Converting EU Shoe Size to US Shoe Size

If you’re buying shoes from abroad or from a brand that isn’t local to you, it can be tricky to know which size to choose. Shoe brands often base their shoe sizing on the native sizing of their home market (e.g UK & US shoe sizes for UK & American brands). If they don’t, the best way to work out your shoe size is to use a shoe size conversion chart like the one below. This is a great starting point but it’s worth bearing in mind that different brands may have slightly different sizing systems.

The European shoe sizing system is called the Paris point and it uses centimetres so it’s a metric based measurement. It starts at a child’s size of 15 which equates to an inner foot length of 10 centimetres and extends up to men’s size 50 (33.3 centimetres). This is the standard European shoe sizing and it is also used by some Anglo-American manufacturers, such as Nike.

The US shoe sizing system is based on inches. It starts at a child’s foot size of 6 and goes up to a men’s size 12 which equates to a sole length of 27.9 inches. The US system is also used by some Anglo-American brands, such as Nike. eu shoe size to us
