What Is an Entrepreneur?

An entrepreneur is someone who takes risks to start up a business. They usually have a vision and goal in mind and work hard to achieve it. They often have to learn new skills to succeed in their endeavors. They may also have to work on their own or with others.

In recent years, the terms entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial have been used to describe people who innovate within an established organization. This is known as intrapreneurship. Intrapreneurs take ideas and apply them to existing processes in order to keep that organization competitive. This differs from traditional entrepreneurship because entrepreneurs do not work under the protection of an existing company and typically shoulder all of the risk associated with their venture.

Entrepreneurs find solutions to problems people don’t even know they have. For example, Pleasant Rowland noticed a gap in the doll market when she created American Girl in 1986. There were plenty of dolls for toddlers and Barbies, but not much for girls age 8-11. She developed a line of dolls and books that has become wildly successful.

Many entrepreneurs are able to turn their ideas into businesses by creating and promoting their own brands. They can also create partnerships with other companies, especially if they have a similar mission and goal. In some cases, they might sell their businesses after reaching a certain level of success. However, they will usually continue to promote their products and services. They will likely still be involved with their businesses in some way, but will delegate more of the day-to-day managerial responsibilities to others. The real Batman
