Manicure Equipment consists of the tools you need to give yourself a salon-worthy manicure at home. The basic tools include nail clippers, a nail file, and a cuticle nippers but you may want to branch out and add a buffer, polish remover, and other nail care products to your kit.
Nail Clippers
The most important tool in your manicure kit is a pair of nail clippers. The best ones are stainless steel and have rounded tips to avoid hurting the cuticles when trimming. The tip of the nail clippers is also curved to make it easy to get underneath the nails and around the corners of your toes.
A set of nail clippers comes in a clutch-style holder to keep the tools together and prevent them from getting lost or broken. There are even some that have a magnetic side to help keep them in place.
If you don’t have nail clippers, you can buy individual pairs of nail clips at most beauty supply stores or online. You can also use a regular pair of scissors to trim your nails. However, if you are going to do this, be very careful as you don’t want to cut too much of the live part of your nail or cause it to break.
Nail Files
The best manicure and pedicure tools to have are glass nail files. They are more gentle on your nails than emery boards or metal nail files and can be disinfected between uses. They will also last longer than emery boards and won’t chip as easily.
You can also find nail files that have one side that’s more coarse to remove calluses and other tough skin from your feet. The other side is more fine and smooths your toenails. If you have a glass nail file, you can also use it to buff your nails before you apply a base coat or top coat.
Nail Buffer
A nail buffer is a great way to shine up your nails and make them look smooth without using clear nail polish. It’s easy to use and can be purchased in a kit with a file or in its own holder. You can even find a nail buffer that has numbers on the sides to show you what grit level you are on, which helps you get the best manicure result.
While these are the most essential manicure tools, you can also include other nail care products in your kit such as a nail polish remover that’s gentle on the nails and hands, a manicure stick to push back your cuticles, and a nail art pen for adding polka dots or other designs to your nails. You can also use cuticle oil to rehydrate your cuticles and avoid hangnails. Manicure Equipment
